Juneteenth or Emancipation Day (word- combination) for June and nineteenth, a U.S. federal holiday to commemorate the June 19th 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas and the emancipation of African-American slaves throughout the Confederate South.
If June 19th falls on a weekend, the federal holiday and most state holidays will observe a holiday on the closest working weekday.
